The Scott Kelby Annual Worldwide Photowalk

The name is certainly a mouthful. But essentially, the phrase describes what is going on. First started in 2008, Scott Kelby, a photography entrepreneur came up the idea of organising photowalk happening at the same time in all the major cities throughout the Globe. The first time I joined the Kuala Lumpur chapter was back in 2009, and we explored Chow Kit and Kampung Baru back then. Ripi was our main Walk Leader over the years, although I chipped in organising the event in 2010.

Now, it is done on the first weekend of October every year - this Saturday 6th October - and Ripi had again come forth to be the Leader. It will be in Bukit Bintang this year, and hopefully, we would head up the KL Eco Park - used to be called Bukit Nanas - at some point.

As usual, I would be looking at the events from yesteryears - as it is important not to turn up in the same clothes 2 years in a row!

Kelby Walk 2017

This chapter took us around Chinatown. We started off in front of Central Market after breakfast at a mamak restaurant near there. The customary group photo at the beginning before we set off to Sri Maharatma Temple and around Chinatown and Pasar Karat.

It was bright and sunny at the beginning of the walk with plenty of captures of the arch and crossings. We then walked towards Dataran Merdeka, stopping for a breather at Ruang for an exhibition.

Some lunch, before we disperse ….
