240331 Diary
The Sunday morning round this week was a short one, with around half a dozen patient in the ward. This would contrast with tomorrow when I have a few admissions lined up, leading up to a transplant during the midweek. So, today might be the last break I had before the final Ramadan stretch and the Raya break.
I watched the United match during Sahur. A one-sided affair away at Brentford. We were totally outplayed but took the lead on the 96th minute before Brentford equalised a couple of minutes after. It would be a travesty if we were to walk away with all three points. In fact, any points would have been harsh. We were that bad!
After the round, we decided to have a stop at Central Market before the crowd turned up. So, we reached there by 10.30 and the parking lot still had plenty of space. The main market was already opened although some of the pop-up kiosk were yet to be manned. Even then, the sun was already searing.
This was the first time we visited Central Market since the Market Hall was opened. The inside was nigger that we thought and they mainly sell local wares, from food stuff, to herbs and spices. The only strange thing about the place was the staff. The majority were foreigners. It just sent a wrong message really ... But it was great to see such market at a prominent spot for tourists to see. It was akin to the bazaar at Dataran Palawan in Melaka. You can pick up budu, cencalok, gula Melaka, keropok and many other things there.
We did a circle around the central Market after that, stopping by Nala's Store at Kasturi Walk. We wanted to get some Duit Raya pouches from there. By the time we left the place - just before noon - the place was already crowded.
Next stop was Pavilion to buy some food for berbuka. When we were walking around, we noticed a long queue from Tokyo Street on the top floor all the way to the centre of the mall. Apparently, there was an anime game event going on that afternoon, featuring Honkai: Star Rail characters. All we saw was people taking selfie with a trash can! Apparently, according to our boys, the game was a big hit and was 2023 iOS Game of the Year. No wonder people were excited.
After we sorted our food, we spent the rest of the afternoon indoors. I certainly could do with a rest after picking up a headache since arriving home. I think it was dehydration. I binged on Netflix series - 3 Body Problem, all 8 episodes of them. Quite a good one.
