Closing Shop

The SJMC MediPlex had been undergoing a bit of a change in the last year since the Ramsay group bought a stake in Sime Darby Healthcare, they had begun realigning where the Healthcare group was headed.

The original plan for MediPlex was retail. After a couple of years, the ground floor seemed to be doing well. Unfortunately not many customers ventured up to the other floors as a result, many of the shops there had closed.

Then came the plan of modifying the other floors into clinical areas. The fifth floor became physiotherapy unit and blood donation centre. The lab now occupied the whole of the fourth floor. The third floor had been turned into clinic - for ENT, Dermatology and Ophthalmology.

The Executive Screening service now is at the first floor along with an aesthetic clinic and a dental practice. It looks like the aesthetic centre was also downsizing, now occupying half the space it had before. And I would expect more changes coming soon.
