The Merdeka celebration this year was different. The euphoria from the recent general election were still pretty much in the air. And the celebration this time around appeared more muted and more personal.

No more of those big banners in town and on the road sides. Things were more of a smaller scale. But walking around town, there were still Jalur Gemilang everywhere.

I noticed that there were not many flags on cars or motorcycles like few years back. I guess everybody were more reflective lately, but that doesn't mean that they were less patriotic.

I will be looking forward to see exhibitions around town between Merdeka and Malaysia Days. Apparently, there were a few going on soon ...
