Ikan Bakar Bellamy
I wished that I took more photos. But the reason for coming here was not for the snaps. But for the great food. More specifically freshly grilled fish.
Anita came here with a few of her friends months ago and she made it a point to bring me along next time. Medan Ikan Bakar Bellamy had been famous for years but the queue for food there were rediculously long.
But I had some free time after I finished my ward round early. I called Anita who was at home, whisked her out and off we went. It was only a 10 minutes drive right behind the old Istana Negara.
The place had got a lot bigger since I last came here, must be 20 years back. Anita was more used to it and quickly pointed out the best stall - rather a single stall there were easily 6 of them. There were also stalls selling other things as well a live band.
Arriving there just after 11 am meant that we got to pick our spot.
And the food was amazing. Fresh fish, grilled to perfectly with the right amount of marinate. Add to that the right sambal. It was great! I was too busy enjoying the food to be honest and missed on plenty of photo ops.
Definitely would head there again but if course must get there as early as we did. The crowd were huge by the time we left just after noon.
