A Full Deepavali Day
In the past few years, Deepavali means that I will be on call. It was not the case this year. I will be on call the day after instead. So, with that, I managed to cram plenty of activities for the day.
It started off with an early ward round. I saw all my patients, sorted out the discharges and managed to be home by 9 am. Then, real activities started. By 9.45, we were already headed to USJ for the wedding of one of Anita's cousin's daughter. It was an early one since it also included the Akad Nikah - solemnisation - ceremony. My parents-in-law were definitely there, and we had to be there early to make sure that things were OK.
The event went very well, and we were off by 12.30 pm. But we were not done yet.
We had another event to attend - which equated to a second lunch. This time at a friend's place for Deepavali. And there I went, complete with Baju Melayu and samping, really dressed for the occasion. The second wholesome meal for the day .... and as usual, the Deepavali lunch at the house was just fantastic. I was almost asleep driving home.
After a short rest, we went out again, this time to KLCC as I wanted to buy something from Kinokuniya. But it turned out that we bought a new phone for Anita ..... sufficed to say that she has joined the Fold.
All in all, it had been a long and fruitful day. Had to sleep early tonight as I will be on call the day after Deepavali. I have cancelled my clinic for Tuesday, meaning I would have some rest that day before the week starts proper on Wednesday. And this would be followed by a weekend in Jakarta from Friday. I will be giving a short talk there ... and hopefully able to take my camera for some street photography.
