The Crown Season 3

The third season of The Crown finally arrived on Netflix last week. An eagerly awaited series, the season brought along many changes. The main characters all have changed as the season concentrated on the Queen entering middle age. But who I missed most were Vanessa Kirby and Matthew Goode who played Princess Margaret and Earl Snowdon. Those were real characters before.

The episodes featured the swinging 60s when the Monarchy was evolving in the post-War era. The storyline was more relatable and shed a different light on what may have happened in the background. The dynamics in the relationships of the members - either internally or their love lives were explored. Things may not be as they seemed, and I found myself rooting for Prince Charles more than before ... Such propaganda!

Anyhow, the series was very well produced. Helena Bonham Carter was amazing as the middle-age Prince Margaret. It also had a killer soundtrack to boot ... I found myself humming to the music of the times, swinging indeed. The cinematographer was no slouch either. Season 4 is now in production, and I can’t wait for its release.
