240225 Diary
It was a disappointed night last night United losing to an injury time goal to Fulham at Old Trafford. Anita slept late after the game and could not get up for a cycle ride this morning. So, we went for breakfast at Pelita instead, before I headed out fro my morning rounds.
And talking about food, lunch was the highlight today. Idlan came along to take our passport photos, and we went to Blossom A GlassMansion at Imbi. It was a converted old colonial mansion near TRX, within walking distance from Pavilion if you want to chance it! Luckily, there was ample parking there and despite being a Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of tables available.
Typical of mansion of this age, there was a central courtyard inside the building. This is now covered and to keep the temperature cool, there were a stream of water along the transparent roof of the place, creating an atrium feel. And with the water moving, there was a very soothing shadow it created. The place seemed alive. There were also greeneries in the inside, contrasting with the bright white plaster on the wall, the ambiance just felt open.
And the food? They were top notch. Contrast to the debacle of a "pineapple sunrise" at V88 we had yesterday, the cocktail I ordered really hit the spot! Idlan had a chicken broth with ramen, and it was amazing. I had lamb and Anita had salmon. We finished everything, except for the peas in the salad!
We were full when we headed home. Anita took a nap, but I decided that get some new vinyl. So, off I went to Sungai Wang. Rather than drive through eh traffic, I parked at Muzium Negara and took the MRT. For a Sunday, the train were packed. I walked by Pavilion with my camera but I could not get through. The place was being readied for a lion dance troupe, stationed by the famous fountain.
Rather than endure that, I turned back to buy my records and had a stroll at Low Fat before heading back home - reaching home well before sunset. What did I buy? Nirvana and A-Ha! Can't beat that combo ... And as usual, Sunday night would be pizza night. Off for dinner now!
