Saturday Night at OpenHouse

Always mesmerising. From any angle.

It was a post-call evening. A Saturday evening. I didn't feel like eating in and I asked Anita if she fancied eating out. She suggested OpenHouse, a Malay restaurant at Suria KLCC that she'd been on a few occasions with her parents and friends.

Not a bad idea and so, there we were. We got there early, and there were only two other tables occupied.

Nope! We did not go for the yee sang!

And OpenHouse was a proper posh affair. Good quality food and great ambiance, located on the ground floor of Suria. To get there, one had to walk outside from the main entrance towards the fountain, turn left right to the very end. The restaurant was hidden up a stairway, hence it might be best to ask around if you haven't been there.

All the items were fusion Malay food. Everything from the starters to the desserts were familiar, but with a twist. We ordered simple items, specifically otak-otak and daging salai. They were gorgeous. Anita ordered some ulam, but I personally was not a fan though.

After dinner, we enjoyed a quick walk back into Suria with the blue hour lights great for photography. Plenty of families with young children running around enjoying the weekend. A perfect end to the meal ... Time for an early night for me after the call after that ...
