With the new camera system, I could at least appreciate some old methods, given a new lease of life. What better way than to utilise my old tripod and experiment with some long exposure settings. The GFX was certainly built for this kind of stuff ...

Out came the Manfrotto 055 with the good old ball head, and the rest was history. I tried with many settings but finally had to wait until the light level was lower before I could get a long enough shutter speed to blur the river. I settled for f16 at 20 sec exposure in the end. The mist which came intermittently from the side of the waterways also helped since truth be told, the actually river was not really nice to look at.

It rained earlier in the day and there were plenty of debris in the water. Not exactly photogenic.

After some wait, I finally got the set of photos I wanted. The place was also getting crowded with tourists. Clearly it was time to go. A good first outing though, and hopefully the first of many more ...
