Cycling Around the Island
After learning that I walked around the island the day before, Anita decided to do some exploration on her own. This time on the bicycle. The boys were done by the time they were finished with their shower in the room. The kayak trip really took a lot out of them. We left them there and hired a couple of bicycles. With the helmets on, we ventured around the resort, circling the southern tip of Rebak Island, ending up making a circle through the marina.
We also discovered that there were more rooms on the other side of the hotel opposite to ours. A bit further away from the main lobby, and it was quite a walk to get to the pool or the beach. We were lucky that we stayed where we were.
When we went past the other end of the resort, we came across a smaller trail leading to an abandoned beachfront project, some sort of jetty. But rather than the calm marina, the open sea at this area appeared quite rough. After a few snaps, we rode further on, to the opening into the bay.
There was a guardhouse at the entrance to the marina which was abandoned despite looking pretty new still. More photos. We then took a leisurely ride across the marina before turning back into the resort. But this time we rode to the other end of the resort and sat by the sea. Everything seemed calm at the time. Little that we know that there would be a storm coming later that evening.
As the sun was setting, we rode back to the lobby to leave the bicycles. It was just under an hour, and we rode about 5 km. A nice bit of exercise to cap off a tiring day.
