Happy Faces at the Park
With the slight relief to the MCO, the city dwellers took the chance to come out to the park with a vengeance. A couple of Sunday ago, when I decided to walk there with Anita, the place was packed. Many families taking out their children to enjoy some fresh air, a change of scenery does wonder.
We sensed that the place was going to be packed, and since my Sunday morning ward round took longer than expected, we went straight to park at the multistory car park, where parking was guaranteed. That also meant a longer walk to enter the park, but we did not mind that. It was part of the fun.
We walked by the Panggung Anniversari, towards the Deer Park - the first time I have been there, which was a pleasant surprise - before doubling back down the hill towards the main lake. It was heavenly.
And I caught glimpses of people smiling along the route. A change from the usual face-wearing zombies we were turning into.
The far side of the lake remained under renovation, which was a shame since we initially planned to do a complete round. Instead, we had a quick lunch at the cafe by the lake. The sun was out, but the air was still. It was always fun just sitting down people watching.
After our drinks, it was another 15 minutes walk back to the car. Wound definitely do this again, provided I can finish my rounds early on Sundays ...
