An Unexpected Find
After visiting my father-in-law’s grave, my next bit of business was to find a tailor to make replacements for my almost decade-old lab coat. Apparently, Sungai Besi is a town full of tailors making uniforms as it has a large military camp there. After checking out a few shops, I put an order for a couple of coats. If I like them, I might commission a few more.
While going through the shops, I noticed that the side alleys had plenty of wall arts. I stopped to capture a few, and they looked great in the bright sunlight. They also appeared to be new. Quite neat. And unexpected.
Most of them carry tin mining motif. But on closer inspection, it might also mean mining for metals and Sungai Besi in Malay is literally translated as “Steel River”. Maybe they were using pans to mine for metals. Interesting ...
