240203 Diary

The work load for this Saturday was lighter than usual. I think things were ramping down for the Chinese New Year. Did plenty of discharge today and I managed to leave the hospital before noon.

As Laila was having her off weekend, we decided to stay in for the afternoon. The gorgeous weather outside did tempt us to go out, but after a while, I ended up having a nap at the sofa while watching Netflix.

We decided for an early dinner. While walking around BSC the other day, we stumbled across BEAST, a steakhouse from the BIG Group. It got us curious. Apparently they have just moved in from the previous spot at Batai. We were the first time to arrive and we decided to give it a go.

And I must say, Anita and I were impressed. Great service, great ambiance and heavenly food. While waiting for our started, we were treated with sourdough with truffle butter. It was a sign of things to come.

For starters we had amoeba and bresaola toast, and prawn cocktail. Then came the perfectly cooked medium rare tenderloin ... and we devoured it down in record time. The side dishes - truffle mash potatoes and sautéed asparagus were amazing. We should have picked a different dessert to the churros that we had. Some pavlova would have been better.

All in all, it was mighty impressive. Just count this as out early Valentine's dinner. We were the only patron there until we left just after 7, when another table was occupied.

After a quick walk to buy groceries, we stroll around the shopping mall decked out with CNY decorations.
