Back to School

The school had been opened for the last 3 weeks now but it had been interrupted by holidays and long weekends. This coming weekend would be another extended one for Hari Malaysia.

After much disruption, the boys' school held their "Back to School" program tonight and of course, with Idlan now entering Key Stage 4, a lot of things needed to be sorted out in terms of his learning and preparations. The grading system had also been changed and the school is adapting this new system from this term onwards to familiarise the students. The new grading system is apparently better at spotting those who are on the very top tear and those who are struggling. Hopefully it would help the boys in school as they fear up for I-GCSE.

It was a good program but held after a long day at work, I felt that it was a bit too long for me. Much emphasis was made about smart learning and how parents can help their children concentrate in preparing space and time for them to revise and reflect. Great tips.

It looks like we will have to sit down with Idlan in the coming few days to streamline his daily routine. No more console games during weekdays. More discipline.

When the talk adjourned at 8pm, I was already starving and we stopped by the stall near our apartment for a quick bite. I would be on call tomorrow. So, time to catch some rest.
