Gathering in Penang

The whole clan …

The whole clan …

After the passing of Dadi - my Grandmother - the ancestral home in Pahang Road had been sold. Since then, gathering my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins was never straight forward. Since I was in town, I invited them for a spot of lunch. Unfortunately since DoubleTree did not offer a buffet lunch, we decided to meet up at a nearby hotel, the Rasa Sayang.

Celebrating one of my Aunt’s birthday

Celebrating one of my Aunt’s birthday

Most of my extended families based in Penang and Seberang came over. It was one of my Aunt’s birthday as well, so it was a double celebration. We had long chats and it was great to catch up with my cousins especially. Once of them got married last year and I was not able to attend their wedding. Some I had not seen for many years.

The buffet selection at the hotel was excellent, ranging from local to East and Western. I certainly enjoyed the food. And looking around, chatting with them, I realised how old I am. Something to be cherished as I seldom was able to host.
