A Quiet Raya at Rebak

This year, we decided to be different. We always spent Raya either in Gombak or Bukit Antarabangsa. This year, I managed to get a week off during the period and decided to get out of town. We had the choice of either going before or after Raya Day itself. After spending time thinking about it, we decided to spend the day itself away.

Anita wanted to go to Langkawi. I initially wanted to go to Penang - although we were there a few months back. So, Langkawi it was, and to accommodate Raya, we booked a four nights stay since we did not want to travel on Hari Raya Day.

That day we spent on Rebak Island without taking any trip to the main island. We took our time during breakfast, enjoying the morning breeze and sunny weather. We then dressed up for some photos. As usual, Idlan and Irfan reluctantly followed suit. They had promised Anita to pose for some photos. They did as promised, grudgingly.

After that, we just spent the rest of the morning eating and chilling out. Anita decided to do the packing early and cleared all the clothes from a previous couple of days trips. We brought them to the tuck shop at the island who had a laundrette. We just sat there while the clothes being washed, with ice cream in hand. The boys were back in the room, just playing games and watching TV.

It rained later on in the afternoon while we were having our lunch. More walking around the island after that before settling in for an early dinner. Anita had all done with the packing then, while I went to the lobby watching football on TV, having some drinks while swatting at the mosquitoes. United was playing later that evening for the opening game of the season. And they thrashed Chelsea four-nil. A fitting end to a beautiful day, and an enjoyable time at Rebak Island. I wished that we could do the same next Raya.
