Sunny Start to 2020
I did not hold back. 2020 started with a bang!
As usual, things started with a quick ward round. Then straight to the trails with Anita, in the hot sunshine. We took a shorter route - a combination of warm weather and tiredness.
Anita had to go to Gombak after that, and I decided to take a couple of hours just doing a photowalk. And that lasted longer than I planned. The weather was gorgeous, in fact, it was too hot for street photography but perfect for architecture snaps. Rather than taking my wide-angle, I decided to use a zoom. The Fuji lens was just too bulky, so I went back to my Leica CL and just started snapping away.
I parked at KLCC, and after exploring the area around the Twin Towers, I took the LRT to Masjid Jamek. My original plan was to have biryani at one of the restaurants there, but it was closed on the New Year Day. I had a burger instead and spent some time around Masjid India before walking around the bazaars at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman heading towards River of Life and Dataran Merdeka.
That area was packed, and there was a large group of French tourist of all people.
I then ventured towards Petaling Street - another packed spot. But I spent most of the time in the streets surrounding it as the light was simply sublime. I wished that it was later in the afternoon for a better glow in the sunlight, but I had to make do.
I did not linger around too long at Petaling Street. There were just too many people there. I made my exit towards Central Market, just keeping in the shades and taking plenty of fluids. I walked further towards Medan Pasar, back to Masjid Jamek, into the LRT back to KLCC. And the light was still great even when I drove home, and I wished that the weather was this great for the coming few weeks. Indeed a great day out for photographers like myself.
The snaps taken in this entry was taken using a Leica CL with Vario-Elmar-TL 18-55mm zoom lens
