I know that it would be the Year of the Rat after the coming Chinese New Year celebration. But having Mickey and Minnie Mouse as the mascot for the CNY decorations was quite literally, taking the Mickey here.

Two weeks for CNY, Pavilion was packed. Mickey or no Mickey, everybody seemed to enjoy the celebration although, for me, they were nothing much to write home about. I was more occupied with my camera as I was trying out the “Classic Negative” setting on my X-Pro3.

Reading on Facebook, apparently, there were supposed to be a Japanese bazaar at Tokyo Street on the top floor. But a quick survey there, I could not find anything worth exploring. Rather than hanging around there for too long, I was back on the street before grabbing an early dinner.

The weather was decent, and there were so many people out and about. The area near the Bukit Bintang MRT station was filled with passing by enjoying some live music from buskers and bands. I decided to leave early since I still have some errands to run. But I could not help but be disappointed with the calibre of the CNY decorations, on the whole, this year. Maybe it is reflective of the economy and uncertain times ...
