Balloons at Publika
Publika has been fast becoming our family’s go-to place. Apart from being situated only 10 minutes away, parking on the right entrance can be simple. The place was also rife with activities during the weekend, much of which was family orientated. Coupled with an abundance of restaurants and shopping outlet, going there for meals was often a simple enough decision.
Publika also takes its festivities seriously. Their Raya decorations, for instance, was a big hit and possibly the best in town. And their Merdeka exhibition? That was something else! For Xmas last year, they hosted the usual bazaar - which extended towards the main square outside. But their decorative theme was something slightly different. They had tons of balloon. A big one in the shape of a bear in Santa outfit.
On Xmas Eve, we headed there for a meal, and while Anita was doing her shopping and the boys enjoying their chocolate desserts, I went around the place admiring their effort. I also learned that they planned their usual countdown for New Year complete with a firework display and outdoor party. The last time Publika planned a firework event - it was during Bon Odori - they had to cancel because of haze.
Plenty of stuff to see certainly and the balloon was both intricate and different. Well done, Publika!
