Now that the number of cases of COVID-19 in Malaysia was going up, the hospitals are taking extra precautions. Although the number of entrances to the hospital remains the same - none of them were blocked - there are nurses stationed at each entry points to perform screening of all visitors.

Those who did not have any symptoms or has not travelled recently - plus do not have a fever - were given stickers on their tops and allowed in. Most of the visitors were using masks, although the majority of the Doctors stuck with the WHO guideline of not using one if not having close contact.

As mentioned, the number of patients turning up to clinic was down somewhat, but still, the Emergency Room remained packed. None of my patients missed their chemo yet and turned up as usual - and it helped because the number of occupied bed in hospital was lower than average.

My last call was last weekend, and admission number was down somewhat. Usually, the period after the Chinese New Year was busy. Does not seem to be the case this year. Only those who are sick came to the hospital. The Hospital called for a meeting to explain their action plans, but I had to miss it since it was held during Friday Prayers.

Hopefully, the virus and the panic around the virus would die down in the coming few weeks, and things would go back to normal ...
