RMO Day 10 - House Rules
It does not matter what precaution I take when I am at work, Puan Anita has got her own protocol once I step foot at home. Let me correct that, even before I step into the house.
I would first call her when I set off from work - which usually meant a 15 minutes head start. Our apartment has a small area before entering the main unit, which included a toilet.
I would leave my shoes and socks outside the door, take out whatever I had in my pocket and use some alcohol swabs on them. Then straight into the toilet to wash my hands up to the elbow and my face. Towel them dry before getting into the apartment proper, sans my bags.
Then straight into the shower. Change clothes, with what I wore put into a special basket which Anita would separately put into the washing machine after been soaked by some unknown concoction - turmeric maybe ...
By the time I was done, the mop would have already been out and the area I entered would be pristine by then. Only after that, I would be able to interact with the rest of the household.
And that is why I kept telling the hospital to better not call me in too often, as I would have to repeat the process when I return later!
The bad news is, I would be on call tomorrow! I guess she would be waiting at the door with the mop when I reach home after midnight ... The long and short of it, Anita rules!
