The last time I brought my camera out for street snaps must have been almost three months ago. Since the lockdown, the cameras had been in the cupboard. And since I had a couple of days to roam during Raya, I decided to take a walk.

Subdued weather and subdued ambience summed things up. Everybody was wearing masks, and the street was deserted mostly. The shopping malls were not decked out with decorations like they used to. Some lights and signs here and there and that was about it.

But the moment I walked into Low Yat, things changed. It was way too crowded for my liking. I did not bother spending much time there. A quick in and out.

Anita and I managed to have a nice lunch at Pavilion. The parking was secure, and the traffic was sparse. Something which I didn’t really mind. I am sure soon, the crowd would be out again. But things would take a long time to recover. During the walk, I stepped through Lot 10 and Sungei Wang Plaza. There were so many shops closed, and to be honest, those places had been struggling even before the lockdown. This just exacerbated more, and clearly, the signs were not good ...
