Aidilfitri 2021

The obligatory Raya morning pose

The obligatory Raya morning pose

With the surprise announcement of the third lockdown, the plan changed. Instead of stretching my break for almost a week, I reckon I should return to the ward after a couple of days, although the clinic would remain closed.

There would be no travelling allowed. No trips for food - all take-outs are permitted still. Strictly no visitors, of course, meaning even my brother-in-law was not allowed to come over. After the morning rituals, we made a couple of zoom calls to my Mum and sister in Kajang and my brother-in-law in Gombak.

Of course, then came the mad stress of getting the two boys in line for the family portrait. This would be the first time without my late father-in-law, a bittersweet feeling.

Soon, the boys got changed as quickly as the photos were done. Anita, on the other hand, was not finished yet. More pictures and more posing before we settled down for more food.

Anita cooked her signature soto. And I had them for lunch, dinner and breakfast the following day. I sat down to watch Zombi Kampung Pisang over lunch. Then followed by the more mellowed Nomadland.

The next thing I knew, I was already asleep. A two-hour nap! That was bliss! And no need to head out forward round the next morning. Even better!
