Settling Back In

After the clinic was closed for a week, the first clinic after the break was a monster one. At least half of them were new patients, and they all wanted to check if they are safe to have the COVID vaccine. Unfortunately, it should not have been my decision. These enquiries should have been made to their regular Doctors. When I pointed out that there are no instruments at my end that can decide their fate on how safe the vaccination will be, they were not impressed.

A Haematologist can't predict who will get the blood clot from the much-publicised Vaccine-induced Thrombosis and Thrombocytopenia (VITT), which can happen to a post-vaccination patient. Most of the tests can only be done after the symptoms were present, and yes, there are ways of treating them if they present early enough.

Therefore, I have decided to make a video on these very subjects, to educate on the available vaccine and the signs to look up for to flag up VITT.

But before I can do that, I have to get my usual patients sorted up as the chemotherapy schedule looked full in the coming weeks. I shall get around to shoot the video once I read more on the subject, and hopefully, that would convince some vaccine-sceptic parties to change their minds.

For those going for their vaccines, I salute you!!!
