A Tighter Lockdown

It has been almost a week since the tighter lockdown was announced. Yes, the number of cars definitely was down, but the number of foot traffic at the hospital was still high. Quite a fair few were there for their vaccinations, and still the hospital census was still up and my clinic remains full - which is a good thing!

Unfortunately, the number of death remains high, with the high number of daily ICU cases. Most people are more concerned about the number of cases. The Government is still squabbling about which businesses to remain closed. The school terms had been revised again, to add to the uncertainty.

My concern is the lockdown remained half-baked and will be lifted too early like what happened the last time. The rate of vaccination remained disappointingly low. Unless this is ramped up, we will be facing more lockdown and the number of death will continue to rise.

We are clearly not winning here and much is left to be done. The lockdown will likely continue until the vaccination rate picked up ...
