Back to Tangsi

This was the first trip to Rumah Tangsi since the pandemic. The place being small, would attract packed crowds. Anita and I were not too keen to mingle. But now, we learned that they have weekly activities. Therefore, arriving well before lunchtime may leave the place less crowded.

When we went there a couple of Sundays ago, the place was just opening. We were able to look at the stalls and art installations. That followed a leisurely lunch, being able to get the pick of the seats on the shaded lawn.

Rather than having something heavy, we opted to have some snacks and finger food. The bread was heavenly, and we had the “best sirap in the world”. Very laid back. The chilled ambience on a sunny Sunday morning. Just perfect.

It was great to see young entrepreneurs displaying their wear and doing business at the pop-up stalls. Yes, we were not exactly their target audience - becoming apparent when the girls kept referring to Anita as “Auntie”. We were happy to shop and see what they had to offer.

After an hour, it was time to go. The place was slowly becoming packed, all in their beautiful dresses, cameras in tow, of course, uploading their snaps onto Instagram.

Since we are able to walk over from Dataran Merdeka, making it more accessible, we may be visiting Rumah Tangsi more often now.
