Xmas 2022
After resigning to the fact that I might not be able to do much walkabouts during the Xmas break, I suddenly found a spare couple of hours that afternoon. The maid decided to stay a bit longer.
So, I grabbed my camera after my morning rounds and headed out to Dataran Merdeka for a touch of lunch and then some snacks around the area.
Parking was easy despite the town being mobbed by foreign workers and those visiting the capital. We then trekked across Masjid Jamel and had our meal at Mountbatten Cafe. The place was surprisingly empty for a Sunday afternoon. There was only us and a family at the next table. They turned out to be my former colleague at Universiti Malaya!
After a nice meal, we then took a ten-minute stroll down to Central Market. And the place was buzzing. There was a flea market going on. And among the stores was one of Anita’s favourites, a wagyu barbecue stall which usually opened at Lot 10! The stars were aligned.
We enjoyed more snacks and some coffee before a lazy walk to where we parked, passing by the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and the River of Life. It turned out to be a nice afternoon in the end - all within a couple of hours!
