World Cup 2022

World Cup 2022 was a slow-burner for me, despite the favourable time zone. I was not in the mood until the quarter-finals, to be honest. But the final kept me up. So much so that I was sure that I spent the whole extra time standing, kicking every ball!

Morocco did not make the finals, but they were the tournament’s winners. Argentina deserved to be crowned the World Champion, judging from how they played in the final. France did not turn up until the second half. But when they did, oh boy! It was definitely a game!

I think, in my mind, the World Cup was always played in the off-season. It was somewhat weird to have it at the end of the year. It was disruptive, but FIFA had a different idea. Hopefully, from now on, it will be back to the usual schedule. Fond memories ...
