Cosy Little Room

We were lucky that our booking was not cancelled. So, when Idlan called, I just phoned the Holiday Villa to inform them that I would be coming over after all.  One less headache.

When I arrived at Kuala Jetty, my rental car was ready for pick-up. Thirty minutes across the island, Idlan was waiting for me at a Starbucks in Cenang. Ten minutes later, we were already in our room. Idlan hit the showers straight away and then went straight to bed.

I knew something was wrong, although he had no fever or cough. His RTK test was also negative that morning. He woke up at around nine and asked me to drive him to a nearby McDonald’s. So, we skipped the room service.

The room was nice and consistent with the hotel’s age - it would have been built in the 80s, and the decor was dated. But it was practical. I slept in the lounge while Idlan used the bed. It had a couple of balconies, and the one at the lounge opened to face the beach. Being Saturday night, it was pretty loud with music and partying.

The hotel has an infinity pool as well as a family pool. You can also use the private hotel beach and enjoy the breeze if you fancy. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to enjoy any of that during the short trip. I took a stroll on the beach the following day, and that was about it.

The lobby was functional, and apart from the main restaurant, there was also a cafe by the lobby. At the clubhouse, another restaurant also turned into a bar in the evening.  The hotel is ideal for young families as there is a beach and family pool in short proximity. So, pick your poison.
