Turning 50

In the last couple of years, celebrating my birthday had been a bitter-sweet affair. I shared my birthday with my late father-in-law, and when he passed away early last year, I was not keen to celebrate my birthday.

This year, there were plenty of things happening at the same time. It was Aidil Adha and I contracted COVID. That meant, I spent my birthday in isolation, in my bedroom. But that did not mean Anita forgot the day. In fact, I was hit with a sugar rush!

In came the balloons, to remind me that I aged, of course. Then the sweets! My friends had also been kind, sending me pastries and kind wishes. That was enough to wash away my body ache and sore throat!
