Stop at the Gallery

Since we were already at the gallery to enjoy Red Hong Yi’s work, we might as well venture into the gallery proper. The last time I was, there was in 2019, before the pandemic. Not much has changed, really. They were still missing a proper cafe, which is a shame.

It featured the work of Yaman Ibrahim

I always enjoyed sitting at a cafe after consuming art. In fact, big museums abroad, The Louvre, for example, has an almost Michelin-level cafe within its compound. But that would be for a different discussion.

I only managed to enjoy the ground floor of the exhibition as I was pushed for time. It was filled with the gallery’s permanent collection. I was sure there would be other collections on the upper floors, and hopefully, I can drop by again after Raya later.

This one looked familiar

I wish that the gallery would receive more publicity. It would be great to have the younger generations interested in the arts. Having cafes or a place to mingle and offering more contemporary events, such as the Red Hong Yi’s commission, would attract new curious onlookers. And that can only be a good thing.
