Stopping for Tea

I wanted to try something Korean while I was in Seoul. And for the record, I am never a  kimchi fan. That would definitely be off the list. But, I heard that especially in the middle of the cold winter, tea houses would be a good destination.

While I was out at Insadong, I decided to visit one. A quick internet search pointed me to one called O’Sulloc Tea House near Ssamziegil. I went through the menu and even though the desserts looked fantastic, all I wanted was something warm and refreshing. After all, I just got off the flight from KL that morning and it was not a pleasant one.

I ordered the citrus tea - basically a version of lemon tea I guessed but the citrus was more pronounced. The brew was just right and I did not need any extra sugar in them - some preferred it sweet. It was gorgeous. To add to that, the ambiance at the cafe was fantastic. It was full of middle aged lady enjoying an afternoon brew. It was bitterly cold outside and the warmth in the cafe was definitely a respite. There was also a small garden next to where I was sat. How much did the stop cost me? Around RM 25, which was really reasonable I thought.

But I consumed too much of it I guessed. While walking back to the hotel a bit later on, I could feel some heartburn brewing ... I overdid it again ...

Definitely worth a visit but the next time, I would get something less acidic or watered down. It was just too strong for me ...
