Finally, Catalina has arrived. With the long beta-testing window, I was expecting the software to be up and running from the get-go. Unfortunately, there were several kinks.

The main one for me personally was the fact that my Wacom Cintiq display stopped responding to my stylus. So, editing photos would have to wait for the moment. According to the forums, a software update from Wacom would be on the way soon.

Looking on the bright side, the main upgrade for me was Sidecar. Now, I was able to use my iPad as the second display for my MacBook at work. And it worked as advertised. There were minimum lag and setup was straight forward. In terms of practical use, I may be able to use it for editing photos and videos on the go.

I reckoned it would take another couple of weeks before all the compatibility issues were sorted out. Software-wise, things were alright. The Notes app was working great. I do not really fancy the was music and movies were kept in the new system. Maybe it would take some time for me to get used to things. And with the latest update, Aperture is now officially buried.
