Searing Start to Ramadhan
The first 4 days Ramadan breezed past in hot sunshine. The first couple fo days were especially testing. My boys slept on the couch as soon as we reached Gombak, where we traditionally celebrate the first Iftar at Anita’s parent’s place. Still enough time to head over to the bazaar at Taman Melati as Anita craved some fresh fruit juice.
To our surprise, the bazaar was already filled with rows of stalls despite being the first day. Luckily we were there early as otherwise the place would have been packed.
I also took the first couple of days of Ramadhan off by cancelling my clinic. So, I was in the hospital for the morning rounds, deferring planned chemotherapies to another day and seeing referrals after Iftar when things were quieter. And as usual as well, we tried to get the shopping done. That meant an early morning drive to The Curve followed and Medan MARA, spots where Anita could get her clothes. She did not trust online shopping much although she did order a few items.
The boys seemed to cope well, less grumpy than usual during sahur. Idlan was still keen to do his Judo after school despite fasting. The first few days definitely has past by fast ...
