A Very Merry Riuh

After the Panggung Riuh event at Gasket Alley, the Riuh event was moved again, and this time it was at a huge venue in Sentul, called Sentul Depot. Located in the heart of Sentul Park, next door to KLPAC, getting there was not a problem for me.

The event took place a couple of weekends before Xmas, and Anita and I went there on a Sunday afternoon right after we visited Seloka at Rumah Tangsi. As soon as we arrived there by Grab, the first order of business was to get some food. And we were not disappointed.

I got some mean koay teow from Quackteow while Anita got some lamb roast sandwich. And these were washed down with some delicious vanilla milkshake. Although the place was crowded, there was hardly any queue at the stalls since they operate using cashless payment and a portable calling disc while your order was being prepared.

And there were decent facilities

There were plenty of tables to sit, and the whole place was flat under one roof made those with children and prams easy to navigate around.

There were singing and shows at one end while we went to the stalls at the other. The stalls were called the “Maker’s Village”, and the thinking was, it was a place where you could shop for Xmas gifts under one roof. There were play areas and activities for children - including a skating rink. There were also plenty of toilet facilities and surau area for prayers.

A nice little detour for weekends and I think this place will grow and be a hub for Riuh. There were still plenty of empty spaces for expansion and hopefully in the future events, those would be occupied as well.
