Poignant

While flipping the channels recently, I came across a Netflix documentary on the fateful Challenger final flight from 1986. Over four episodes, it told of the backstory behind the tragedy and how it could have been everted.

Great clips and with JJ Abram being one of the producers, you can bet the quality was excellent. It was poignant. I actually remembered the morning I heard of the news on the radio. I was in Form 2 at MRSM Terendak and one of my senior in the room next door had the radio on - something which was rare - tuned to the news. I could not believe what I heard.

I then read about in on the papers and magazines over the next couple of weeks. No internet at the time, and no access to television while at school, I had the thirst to know the story behind it. It was big news, similar to the event of 9/11.

Watching that documentary series certainly brought back the memory of school. As I was watching it with Idlan, she turned around to ask Anita if she knew about it. The conversation became awkward after that ...

Should you come across the series - titled Challenger: The Final Flight - be sure to check it out. It was three hours well spent for me.
