A New Coat of Paint

The last time I ventured into Jalan Alor and Changkat Bukit Bintang, the upkeep of the murals had been lacking. The place was right dirty and appeared less than welcoming.

How I was glad to discover that anew coat of paint had been applied, plus a few new paintings on show. Some of the establishments had already closed shop, likely as the result of the pandemic. Several hotels and cafes there had been boarded off.

I was also sad to see the giant owl mural on one of the wall were gone though.

The buildings surrounding the area had also been painted, although just around the corner, things quickly changed. The stench was still there if you venture deep into the area, and this was not helped by the sheer number of migrant workers living around the neighbourhood. Rather unsavoury if the City wanted to promote this as a tourist attraction in the future - none now as we were still in partial lockdown.

It was undoubtedly a breath of fresh air. The vibrant colours were back. Hopefully, the murals would cover a larger part of the area in the future.
