PD Escape

After spending the last three months cooked up in and around KL, Anita had enough. So, for Father’s Day, she had plans. I ended up having lunch by the beach in Port Dickson on a day trip.

Bayu Beach remains the best beach in PD, in my opinion. Unfortunately, we did not bring the keys to our apartment - it needed some proper cleaning and repairs. So, we just parked by the beach and enjoyed the afternoon shaded by the trees, with the cool breeze on tow.

Despite the bright sun, the beech was actually packed. The car park was full. People were enjoying their last weekend before some of the schools opened, I guess. I even took a nap there with my tummy full. It was really great.

Once we were done at Bayu Beach, we went into town for coffee and discovered a small park right by the beach there called PD Waterfront. It was surprisingly cosy as well. Plenty of trees to keep us in the shades. Just enjoying the afternoon before finally leaving for KL just after 3 pm.

It was a great outing although I prefer not to visit the roadside stalls and the rest stations by the highway. The restaurants and cafes there does seem to practice any of the SOP for the pandemic. In fact, at one of the stops, people were looking at us funny since we were the only ones with masks on. Hopefully, there would be no clusters once the country really opened up. Most of the hotels were starting to open up as well at least during weekends, and the risk would be higher then.
