A Closer Look

The murals by the riverbank was finally completed. You can now get close to the walls and enjoy the painting. The last time I was there, the place were still being cordoned off with work still being done.

The were some crowd, mainly photographers taking photos of models and the likes. The colours contrasted well against the rather tea-coloured “lifeless” river.

The mural depict the joy of kampung life. Farmers and fishermen, toying with nature, how Tanah Melayu might be once was.

I am more concerned about maintenance as the mural is now completed. Hopefully the place would be better looked after compared to the paintings at Jalan Alor. This place would soon become a tourist attraction once the endemic is over. Hopefully some budget would be set aside to make sure the painting retained its glory. Luckily this part of the wall is not normally exposed to direct sunlight. I pray that the colour would stay vivid for a long time.
