Exploring Putrajaya Pt 1

There were plenty to see around the route

After our first ride around town, I contacted Pak Adib, our friend who regularly rides his Brompton in Putrajaya. Learning that we had just got our bikes, he quickly organised a ride for us the very next morning. It had been raining all morning, and initially, we were not optimistic that we would be able to venture out.

After having breakfast at Restoran Ore Kampung at Ayer 8 in Putrajaya, the weather improved. Pak Adib then went through with us his planned route. We would cycle from Masjid Putra at Precinct 1, making the full circle of the Core Island.

One of the many bridges in Putrajaya. This one was from Masjid Putra into the Core Island.

As we were still getting ourselves familiar with the bicycles, the ride would be a slow one. We set off just after 9 am, and before long, we understood why riding in Putrajaya was special. The cycle lanes were well maintained and were built for the purpose. Putrajaya has a set of formal routes, and if you were unfamiliar, you could always start from Dataran Floria, where using your smartphone, you can scan the QR codes, which would give you choices for the routes. Since we have Pak Adib with us, we just followed him.
