Sunday Morning Hike
I received a text from the Max Family a few days back about a hike they were organising over the weekend. Anita and I tended to have our usual walks on Sunday, but in the last few months, we have been avoiding inclines as Anita had been suffering from some knee troubles.
We hoped it would be a flat walk, and I said yes to joining up for the event. Anita also decided to follow suit, but in the end, we only managed half the route.
The hike took place at Bukit Kiara Federal Park, a place quite familiar to us. It has a flat route around a lake as well as a steep hike up the hills. The paths were very well laid out, but with the wet ground, it took quite an effort.
We congregated at 7.45, and after everybody was accounted for, we set off up the hill. Five minutes later, we started to feel our knees, and when we reached our first clearing, we split. The main group went further up the hill, while Anita, myself and another walker decided to take another route back to the meeting point.
We walked for 2.5 km in the end, taking just under an hour. And that was enough for us. Hopefully, we will be more prepared next time. But I am happy that Anita came along. At least she gets to see my engagements with patients and patient groups first hand.
