Sunday Outing
Since our outing during the Kelby Photowalk last month, Anita has been keen to join me for walks. And today, we had a lovely one around town.
The route was a basic one I tend to take when I was with my photo buddies. So, there were somewhat familiar to me. But with Anita coming along, we added a little twist.
We started from the car park at Central Market. Anita waited for me to finish my morning rounds and arrived at the car park just before ten. That also meant that the sun was already up. The first stop was at makan.buzz by the River of Life. They make some killer nasi lemak there. We sat there enjoying the coffee while many cyclists stopped by to quench their thirst as well.
We then walked towards Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, where Anita wanted to take photos by the fountain.
The initial plan was to walk towards Semua House, stopping at the bazaars. This would be after a quick stop by another fountain - more like a water feature called “Jam Detik” by Dataran Merdeka. The place was being cleared up after the recent Merdeka Day parade and celebration. Anita was happy with the snaps we took there and then we changed plans. We decided to go to Rumah Tangsi instead. There was a flea market there, and we might as well have an early lunch and skip Masjid India.
So, that was what we did. And it was a great decision. The flea market was interesting, and the food stalls there were even more so. That was it. Forget shopping! Time for food. By the time we were done, it was just after noon. We had plenty more time to enjoy a stroll. But with the sun high up in the sky, it soon became too hot.
A great Sunday morning spent out and about, and we were already home by 2 pm. More on the stops we had along the way and thoughts about Rumah Tangsi on later entries …
